The task was to attract new customers to purchase services to boost activity on social networks: followers, likes, views, comments, and other indicators.
 

The main target audience is bloggers, marketers, business page administrators, and company owners who want to quickly increase the visibility of their account on 9+ social networks: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.

What was done by the "Necessary People" team

1. Technical training

  • A landing page site with legal content has been created that redirects traffic to the main service.

  • Retargeting was used for those who watched the video or interacted with the ad.

Targeting strategy and planning

We started by testing English- and Russian-speaking segments, targeting business accounts and marketers.

The main traffic went through a layer that looked like a tool for SMM promotion. This allowed us to avoid blocking and ensure legal communication with users.

The combination of video + banner offer, as well as retargeting for video views, worked best.

Tips for improving results

To further improve efficiency, we recommend:

  • launch DCO formats with different offers;

  • connect a Telegram bot or chat on the landing page for faster collection of applications;

  • use customer cases in creatives to increase trust.

Conclusions

The case proved that even in a "gray" niche, it is possible to achieve stable sales and high efficiency of advertising campaigns. Thanks to competent targeting, safe layout and careful work with creatives, the brand received daily orders with minimal lead cost.

For most small and medium-sized businesses, a sales bot solves several problems at once: overloaded managers, lost applications in messengers, long answers to typical questions, night requests without a response. This approach helped targeted advertising to get into a specific business context, rather than talking in general phrases about digital transformation.

Second, the level of trust in “magic solutions” for automation is low: the market is oversaturated with promises of quick results without specifics. If targeted advertising for sales bots shows only technical terms or screenshots from designers, most potential customers will simply scroll through the ad. Therefore, in this project, the primary task was to simplify the product: instead of talking about integrations and dialog logic, show how the bot closes real client requests. The cost and format of cooperation were separately worked out to remove the fear of “it will be expensive and long”, making the entry into working with the bot as predictable as possible.

Targeted advertising strategy for sales bots on social networks

The promotion strategy was built around campaigns for leads and messages on Instagram and Facebook. Separate audience groups were created for targeted advertising of sales bots: online store owners, page administrators, info products, local services such as salons, studios, and educational courses. Each audience received its own offer. For e-commerce, the emphasis was on the fact that the bot accepts orders at night and pulls data from the catalog. For educational projects, the emphasis was on automated delivery of materials and reminders. For local services, the bot showed the schedule, made appointments, and sent reminders. Campaigns were launched with different creatives, and based on the results of the first days, indicators of lead value, dialogue depth, and conversion into an application for the bot's implementation were analyzed.

Creatives, benefit language and demonstration of the bot's work in advertising

Creatives became a key factor in success. Instead of screens from designers and technical block diagrams, the ads showed a ready-made dialogue interface: how the bot greets, asks clarifying questions, suggests answer options, collects contacts, and transfers to payment or a manager. The text of targeted advertising for sales bots was built in the language of benefits: “the bot doesn’t get tired,” “responds in seconds,” “doesn’t forget to submit the application,” “works when the manager is sleeping.” Individual creatives demonstrated numbers: how many applications the bot collected per month, how much the workload on managers decreased, how the percentage of responses to cold calls increased. This approach helped shift the focus from “technology for technology’s sake” to a specific result that the business owner can count in money and time saved.

Targeted advertising results and the scaling potential of bots

After several waves of optimization, targeted advertising of sales bots has achieved stable indicators in terms of lead cost and quality of calls. Inbound messages have become much more entrepreneurs who already understand the basic value of the solution and ask specific questions about implementing it in their business. The share of "interesting, but not now" has decreased, but the number of requests for auditing the current funnel and developing a bot from scratch has increased. The campaigns have made it possible to form a pool of cases for different niches, which, in turn, facilitates the work of future advertising.
