The purpose of the project https://ukraine.ahk.de/de :

Improving the visibility of the AHK website in search engines to attract Ukrainian and German entrepreneurs. The main goal is to increase organic traffic and the number of applications for participation in programs and events.

The main goal of an SEO project

The task of SEO promotion was to increase the organic visibility of the site, increase traffic from the business audience, and improve the representation of the chamber's activities in search engines.

The goal is to ensure stable growth in Google rankings for queries related to international cooperation, economic projects, business support, and trade development between Germany and Ukraine.

 

Initial conditions:

  • the site had limited page indexing;

  • there is no clear structure for SEO;

  • insufficiently optimized meta tags and content;

  • low profile of external links.

SEO promotion strategy for an international business portal

We have built a comprehensive SEO strategy focused on the official image of the organization and increasing trust among partners.

Technical optimization

  • a full site audit was conducted;

  • Fixed issues with duplicates, redirects, and canonical tags;

  • optimized site loading speed (35% faster thanks to caching and image optimization);

  • SSL certificate and Schema.org micro-markup for events and news have been implemented.
     

Optimization of content and site structure

  • a new SEO architecture of pages for areas of activity, projects, events and partners has been created;

  • updated title, description and headings (H1–H3) based on semantic analysis;

  • unique texts have been prepared taking into account key queries:

  • To increase the visibility of the site, we developed a content strategy aimed at improving the reputation in organic search:

  • a news section and blog have been created, where materials about business events, economic initiatives, and partnership programs are regularly published;

  • analytical articles and press releases were prepared for external sources (LinkedIn, official portals of business associations);

  • content optimized for the multilingual structure of the site (Ukrainian, German, English).

Link building and external SEO optimization

  • an audit of external links was conducted;

  • publications were placed on niche business portals, news resources and chambers of commerce websites;

  • A digital PR strategy was implemented, which included mentions in partner articles and press releases.

Results of SEO promotion of the chamber's website in 6 months

Increased visibility:

  • the number of pages in the Google index increased by +70%;

  • organic traffic grew by 120%;

  • The site began to receive a steady flow of visitors from queries such as “German-Ukrainian projects”, “business support in Ukraine”, and “GIZ partnership”.
     

Positions in the issue:

  • 45% of key queries made it into the TOP 10 of Google,

  • 25% are in the TOP-5.

SEO promotion of the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce has become an example of how comprehensive work with technology, structure and content can turn an official website into a living entry point for business. The project was launched for the AHK online resource, which unites Ukrainian and German entrepreneurs, provides information about support programs, events, economic initiatives and partnership projects. The main task of SEO promotion of the site is to ensure stable growth in organic traffic from the business audience, which is looking for cooperation between Germany and Ukraine, and not just reading the news. The focus was on requests for international projects, business support, participation in programs and events. Thanks to the strategic approach, SEO promotion of the chamber's website has become a tool for developing its reputation, and not just a way to increase the number of visits.

SEO tasks and starting conditions of the project

The starting conditions for SEO promotion of the German-Ukrainian Chamber website were far from ideal: limited indexing, poorly structured sections, partially filled meta tags and almost no link profile. In addition, the website performs an important representative function, so any changes had to maintain the official style and meet the requirements of the international organization. The key task of SEO promotion was to increase visibility for queries related to German-Ukrainian partnership, economic programs, business support, participation in trade missions and forums. It was important not only to bring the website to the top for brand phrases, but also to increase its presence in Google for thematic keys used by entrepreneurs looking for new markets, partners and support tools. It was precisely for these tasks that the SEO promotion strategy of the international portal was built.

Technical optimization and indexing of the chamber's website

The first step was a deep technical SEO promotion of the site: an audit was conducted, duplicate pages, incorrect redirects, problematic canonicals and pages that fell out of the index were identified. Particular attention was paid to the loading speed: image optimization, caching settings, working with scripts gave a noticeable acceleration, which positively affected behavioral factors. A separate block was the work on indexing the multilingual structure: the Ukrainian, German and English versions received correct hreflang, an updated site map and a logical URL hierarchy. SEO promotion of the international chamber's resource included setting up a secure protocol, micro-markups for events and news, which is important for display in search. The emphasis was on digital PR: interviews, press releases, announcements of joint events and international projects with a link to the chamber's website. This approach allowed to improve the link profile and at the same time strengthen the reputation effect. Key areas of activity were mentioned in external materials, which helped the SEO promotion of the site to consolidate relevance for important thematic queries. The gradual increase in quality links contributed to the growth of trust from search engines and positively affected the positions of pages in the results.

SEO results and opportunities for further growth

In the first six months, SEO promotion of the German-Ukrainian Chamber's website showed tangible results: the number of pages in the Google index increased significantly, organic traffic more than doubled, and the share of targeted visits from business queries increased significantly. A significant part of the key phrases related to German-Ukrainian projects and business support reached the top of the search results. At the same time, behavioral metrics improved: users began to stay on the site longer, switch between sections more often, and return for updates.
